Congrats Grads of 2018
Graduation was rare where the writer comes from and if one graduated it was a prodigious accomplishment. Identically, it’s an enormous accomplishment in any situation, whether it’s the Urban City or the affluent rural.
All graduates would agree that it was an extensive journey with a great deal of hard work year after year. All parents would admit it was even harder many times over for them as parents seeing their children finish their studies and graduate. As a parent, you ought to be extremely proud and as a student, you too ought to be proud and excited. Excited for what the future holds and the upcoming opportunities.
Where is God in all this? Scripture says, “It is God Who directs our steps…” God, our Creator has created us in such a way (with brains) that we humans crave learning. Learning something new is exciting, it becomes challenging and addictive. Jesus says, “Love the Lord your God with all of your heart, with all of your soul and with all your mind.” Mt.  22:37 {Emphasis mine}
For a believer in Jesus Christ, certainly one wants to learn more as to better serve Christ and His Kingdom. As the old cliche goes, “The mind is a terrible thing to waste…”
Graduates and students, stop and give God thanks for seeing you through and for the capacity to learn. Don’t let this be the end.
